Akicita Federal is hiring Painters to support facility renovation, remodeling, and maintenance operations at the Dallas VA Medical Center in Dallas, TX. These roles make a direct impact on the environments where veterans receive care — from hospital wards and corridors to offices and living quarters.
- Perform general painting for new construction, remodeling, and renovation projects across medical center facilities including offices, wards, corridors, dining halls, and living quarters
- Refinish and paint furniture and equipment including desks, cabinets, chairs, and specialized medical and laundry equipment in wood and metal finishes
- Prepare surfaces using spackling, joint compound, filling, shaping, and application of pre-coating agents to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality
- Mix, blend, tint, tone, and match coating materials and additives to achieve specified colors and finishes
- Install vinyl wall coverings, hang wallpaper, tape and bed drywall joints, and coordinate with interior designers on color and material selections
- Perform glazing and caulking on windows and air-conditioning equipment, and cut and install glass as needed
- Cut stencils, paint directional signage, assist with street marking, and maintain cleanliness and proper care of all painting equipment
What sets candidates apart:
- Prior experience in a healthcare, hospital, or federal facility painting environment
- Familiarity with VA or other federal agency safety and quality standards
- Experience coordinating with interior designers on color selection and wall covering specifications
- Background in drywall taping, bedding, and finishing in addition to paint application
- Experience reading and executing work orders or task assignments in a structured, regulated environment
